Burger King creates mashup burger for International Peace Day without McDonald’s

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The McWhopper idea by Burger King was declined by McDonald’s but that didn’t stop Burger King from teaming up with others to celebrate International Peace Day.

The idea started in August when Burger King publicly asked McDonald’s to call a one day truce to create the epic burger. However, McDonald’s declined.

Last week Burger King decided to team up with several other chains, including Denny’s and Krystal.  On Monday, the company will give away 1,500 mashup burgers at a pop up shop in Atlanta.

McDonald’s announced Sunday that they would lead a multi-million dollar campaign to promote the United Nations food program.
