TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A Lafayette woman faces charges after police say she overdosed on drugs with three small children at the residence.

Charges for 28-year-old Tiara Peyton include possession of a narcotic drug and neglect of a dependent.

Police say they were called to Peyton’s apartment Monday, where they found her on the bathroom floor. Nearby, they found several needles and three small baggies containing a white substance which later tested positive for heroin.

Investigators said her children, ages 1, 2 and 3, went to a neighbor for help when they found her on the bathroom floor.

Peyton is being held at the Tippecanoe County Jail.
