Bus crashes in Morgan County after traveling to see Pope Francis
MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Three people were hospitalized after a charter bus went off the roadway in Morgan County on Monday morning.
Indiana State Police said the a Hartland Trails charter bus was traveling to Kansas City, Missouri from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania when a tire blew out at the 53 mile marker on Interstate 70 in Morgan County.
Police said the bus went off of the interstate, down an embankment and struck a tree before finally stopping in a cornfield.
54 passengers were on the bus. Three were transported to Hendricks County Regional Hospital with complaints of pain.
ISP said the bus was returning to Kansas City after seeing Pope Francis.
