CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) – Carmel is expanding its bikeshare program again. This time to Clay Terrace.

“It’s great that we can get all around Carmel,” said Micah Wilson as he rode off. “Both the west side, east side and all over town.”

The bikes can be used at the shopping center, or to get around town.

“The Zagster bike share program offers a safe convenient alternative transportation to the residents and guests of Carmel,” said Jennifer Jones, mall manager at Clay Terrace.

The bike share was first launched earlier this year, it now has 65 bikes.

“It’s awesome for us to be able to grab these bikes and ride into Carmel,” said Wilson. “It makes it very convenient.”

With the paved pathway there’s now more than 200 miles of trail in Carmel.

“That’s one way we’re able to compete here,” said Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard. “We don’t have mountains, we don’t have oceans, we’re flat but that’s good for bicycling.”

The bikeshare rents for just $3 per hour.

But this weekend at the Clay Terrace location, they’re offering free, one-hour rides to the first 100 customers.

To get a free ride, download the Zagster app for Apple or Android and enter promo code “clayterrace”
