Peace rally spotlights stopping violence

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The rain didn’t keep people away from a rally for peace Saturday.

The goal of the event was to put a spotlight on the recent spike in violent crime here in Indianapolis.

People of all ages came out, including teenagers who say kids their age are getting more brazen and people their age don’t care.

“A lot of us are dying, and a lot of us are from the east side, so it’s disappointing,” Precyous Jones said. “And it could be prevented, but no one is trying and it’s not happening.”

This rally was one of many being held this weekend in Indianapolis.

Last weekend saw an especially high amount of violent crimes.
