JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – The two month old who was hospitalized after receiving injuries while in the care of a Johnson County man died over the weekend.

According to 24-Hour News 8’s partners at the Daily Journal, the baby died over the weekend. The paper identified the child as Braelyn R. Hendley. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said she died on Sunday.

On Friday, police arrested 22-year-old Jamison Cyrus Allan Hendley after the mother came home and found the child not breathing normally. The child was airlifted to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health.

According to a release sent out Friday by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department, the medical staff at Riley said the child was suffering from injuries that are consistent with abuse, including bruises, seizures, significant brain injury, significant retinal bleeding and retinal detachment.

It was not immediately clear what or if Hendley would face additional charges. He was arrested last week on charges of child neglect and aggravated battery.
