WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Two Purdue freshman football players have been released from jail after getting arrested over the weekend.
Wyatt Cook and Chazmyn Turner, both age 18, were arrested around 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Cary Quad on W. Stadium Avenue.
Purdue police said that Cook, a linebacker, was arrested for minor consumption.
Turner, a rush end, was arrested for possession of marijuana.
Both men were taken to the Tippecanoe County Jail and have since been released.
According to Senior Associate Athletic Director Tom Schott, Purdue is aware of the situation. He said they will let the legal process run its course, and then determine any course of action.
