INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Meerkats at the Indianapolis Zoo are apparently quite fond of pumpkins.
The Indianapolis Zoo is home to five of the lively animals.
Pumpkin is not normally a food the desert-dwelling meerkat would find in the wild, the zoo says, which might explain why they go crazy about it.
Zookeepers treat the animals to pumpkin only on rare occasions.
The zoo’s Halloween-themed ZooBoo event, which continues for the next three weekends, was the perfect oppurtunity to bring out the goodies.
Cameras were placed around the exhibit and inside jack-o’-lanterns to capture the meerkats’ adorable reaction to the tasty treat.
