GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The Democratic presidential candidate debate on Tuesday night led to two battles: one on the actual Las Vegas stage between the candidates and another happening on Twitter.
The candidates’ official accounts were live tweeting statistics and quotes to back up what was being said at the debate.
In a little more than 90 minutes, Hillary Clinton tweeted out about 30 times, a tweet every three minutes; she even tweeted in Spanish to appeal to the growing Hispanic vote.
Senator Bernie Sanders posted about 20 tweets, but his campaign paid to promote his own custom trend: #DebateWithBernie.
The candidate tweeting more than Clinton, Sanders and the other democrats is Donald Trump who was bashing candidates and apologizing that there was “no real star” on stage.
