Indiana man arrested in Arizona for double murder

PHOENIX (WANE) – A New Haven man wanted for a double homicide in Nebraska was arrested in Arizona Tuesday afternoon.

The U.S. Marshall Service out of Phoenix, Arizona apprehended Michael Nolt, 53, of New Haven Tuesday afternoon in Mesa, Arizona. The U.S. Marshall Service was following up on leads and assisting the Omaha Metro Fugitive Task Force when they located and arrested Nolt. The vehicle that Nolt was driving was also located.

The Omaha Police Department Homicide Unit and the Omaha Metro Fugitive Task Force worked with law enforcement partners in Fort Wayne, Indiana, New Haven, Indiana, Phoenix, Arizona and Mesa, Arizona.

Nolt was wanted for the alleged murders of 26-year-old Malquan King and 23-year-old Arelius Hassell. Omaha police said Nolt knew the two victims. According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, both King and Hassell are from Fort Wayne. The Omaha Police Department also confirmed a third victim, 25-year-old Tommynique Valentine, was shot. She’s since been released from an Omaha hospital. Investigators said several children were in the home at the time of the shooting, but weren’t hurt.
