Pilots help South Carolina dogs left homeless by floods
COLUMBIA, SC (WSPA) – Some pilots in South Carolina are helping make sure that dogs caught up in flooding have a safe place to stay.
A group called Pilots N Paws loaded up nearly 50 dogs Friday in Columbia and flew them to shelters in Florida and New York.
This will allow shelters in South Carolina to make room for other pets who are homeless because of the flooding.
The group says each flight costs about $1,000. Those flights are paid for through donations. The pilots also donate their time.
