IMPD: Suspects stole 232 pounds of meat from Pizza Hut

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers are searching for two men they say stole about 232 pounds of meat from a local Pizza Hut

According to a police report, the theft happened on Sept. 23 in the 1800 block of South Emerson Avenue just after 2:30 a.m. Police say two men got into a outside freezer of the Pizza Hut and stole frozen meat from inside.

An employee provide police with a complete list of the stolen items which included, 10 pounds of cheese, 16 bags of boneless chicken wings, 16 bags of bone in chicken wings, 40 pounds of beef, 40 pounds of Italian sausage, 75 pounds of pepperoni and other various frozen meats.

Police say the employee told them it happened after they closed and someone forgot to lock the freezer. The employee said they thought they recognized one of the suspects but didn’t know their name.

Pizza Hut estimated the value of the stolen meat to be around $715.82.

A description of the suspects was not immediately known.
