While Halloween is a fun time for kids of all ages, it can also be a little scary at times, when surrounded by things like spiders, ghosts or scary masks! Motivational expert Tim Schurr, along with his 11-year-old son Max, share three tips for helping kids make Halloween NOT so scary!!
Here they are:
- Look away from the things that scare you. Focus on things that make you feel better and be okay with skipping houses that make you feel uncomfortable.
- Go with someone you trust. It’s ok to squeeze your sibling’s/parents hand if you need a little reassurance.
- Distract yourself with tapping. Tapping your hand on your leg helps your brain focus on that sensation rather than focusing only on the thing that’s scary. It also helps you discreetly keep moving because if you stand still, it feels like something is going to jump out at you.
