INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Southern biscuits and gravy combined with potato chips to make a Noblesville¬†woman a millionaire.

Hailey Green won a Lay’s potato chip recipe competition and will end up with at least $1 million in prize money.

Green was flown out to the West Coast earlier this week to learn the big news that she had won.

24-Hour News 8 spoke with her Thursday, a day after it was announced that Southern biscuits and gravy was the winning entry.

“It took a lot of work,” she said. “It wasn’t like it was handed to me. It was a lot of talking to people and getting the word out there. All of my free time in the last few months has been spent working on this contest. So it’s cool to see it pay off, literally.”

She wanted to thank everyone for making her chip the favorite of the four flavor finalists.

If 1 percent of the sales reaches more than $1 million, she will get the difference.

Hailey says she will keep her job as a travel agent, but she plans to do some travelling of her own. She also says she will pay off student loans.

She also wants to buy something for her grandma whose cooking was the inspiration for the biscuits and gravy chip.
