Suspect with possible gun believed to no longer be at ISU

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Around 10 a.m., Indiana State University Police reported there was a person armed with handgun seen on campus.

They report the suspect was in the area of Rhodes and Hine halls.

Suspect was described as a black male who is 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and has long dreadlocks. He was wearing black basketball shorts and had a red or black backpack on.

Just after 11:20 a.m., Indiana State University reported the suspect they are searching for was no longer believed to be on campus. Officials including ISUPD and Terre Haute City Police are searching for the possible suspect north of campus. Capture

The ISU Campus Alert stated unconfirmed reports were made that the suspect was looking for a specific person over a personal matter.

Vigo County School Corporation is reporting that some schools are on ‘heightened alert’ at this time while officials search for the possible suspect. At this time, no schools are on lockdown.

They are asking anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 812 237 5555.
