Research firm predicts busiest shopping days for holiday season

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A research firm says Black Friday will regain the title this year of the busiest shopping day.

Each year the company Shopper Trak predicts the top shopping days in the U.S. The company says this year – Black Friday will take the top spot because fewer stores will be open on thanksgiving compared to last year.

Stores like Wal-Mart, Target, Macy’s and Toys-R-Us are expected to be open on Thanksgiving Day, but places like Staples, Game Stop, Lowes and TJ Maxx have already said they’ll stay closed for the holiday.

After Black Friday, shopper track says the busiest shopping days will be the Saturday before Christmas, the day after Christmas, the second to last Saturday before Christmas and the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Those dates are:

  • Nov. 27
  • Nov. 28
  • Dec. 12
  • Dec. 19
  • Dec. 26
