INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – WISH-TV teamed up with Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana Saturday to recycle and shred important documents.

Hundreds of people came out to Creek Side Middle School in Carmel.

The goal of the event was to fight identity theft.

According to police, ID theft is one of the fastest growing crime in America.

By having your documents shredded, the chances of becoming a victim decrease dramatically.

Documents dropped off Saturday were shredded into pulp, which then gets recycled.
