On and off showers expected today

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Our best chance of rain in nearly three weeks arrives in central Indiana today. While rain is in the forecast all day, we are not expecting an all-day rain. Isolated light showers will be possible for the rest of the morning. As a cold front approaches this afternoon, an increase in coverage and intensity of showers and storms – mainly between mid to late afternoon  is likely.

Much needed rainfall could range between 0.10″ – 0.50″. Since Oct. 1st, Indianapolis has only received 0.19″ of rainfall.

It will be a windy and warm afternoon, with many areas hitting 70° for a high today, despite a lack of sunshine.

Cooler air will fill in behind the rain this afternoon, with highs topping out in the mid 60’s, Sunday.
