Secretary accused of stealing thousands from employer

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WANE) – After a three month long investigation, 31-year-old New Haven woman has been arrested and accused of using her employer’s company credit card. According to 24-Hour News 8 sister station, WANE, a complaint was filed against Heather Johnson, a secretary for Interdisciplinary Diagnostic Evaluation Center in July, according to the Indiana State Police Criminal Investigation Division.

According to detectives, she used the company’s credit card for personal expenses totaling $100,000. Police also said she gave herself a raise and wrote $40,000 worth of checks to herself from the company.

Johnson was arrested Tuesday morning on one count of theft and was taken to the Allen County Jail. The investigation has been turned over to the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
