FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) — Theft from cars is the most common crime in Fishers, according to police.
There’s a certain pattern to car thefts that could be the key in making sure you’re not the next victim.
Fishers police released their September neighborhood crime watch report on Thursday.
According to the report, 36 thefts, mostly from vehicles, happened in September.
There were also 10 burglaries and five “damage to property” crimes.
To stop that number from rising, police and neighbors are trying to predict where thieves might strike next.
Fishers police have started a campaign called Hide it, Lock it, Keep it, reminding residents to look after their belongings.
They say Fishers is a safe place to live, but it’s not immune to criminal activity.
