Steak ‘n Shake customers, workers robbed at gunpoint
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police are investigating after a Steak ‘n Shake restaurant on the east side of Indianapolis was robbed at gunpoint early Thursday morning.
According to an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department police report, it happened at the Steak ‘n Shake at 7930 East Washington Street around 4:30 a.m.
The report states three men walked into the restaurant and robbed employees and customers at gunpoint. No one was injured.
The men reportedly drove off in a vehicle, but a description of that car wasn’t immediately clear. The suspects were described by police as three black males wearing grey sweat suits with bandanas over their faces and armed with handguns.
The report states that most of the people in the restaurant were adults but there was a juvenile present at the time of the robbery.
Police say the suspects robbed the business of an undetermined about of cash. A customer was also robbed of $67.
