Crash claims life of Michigan man in Grant County
GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Authorities say a Michigan man died in a fiery crash Thursday near State Road 22 and State Road 13.
The crash happened in Swayzee Indiana around 9:15 a.m. That’s just east of Kokomo.
Authorities say a Pennsylvania man driving a semi-truck failed to stop at a stop sign. They say he hit 54-year-old David Hoffman’s semi.
Officials say both vehicles were fully engulfed in flames when emergency responders arrived. Police say Hoffman died at the scene.
According to police, witnesses were able to help the Pennsylvania driver, 40-year-old Jernane Coleman, escape his truck. He had serious but non-life threatening injures, according to police.
