Crowds greet returning Indy Honor Flight vets
PLAINFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — Nearly a thousand people gathered to welcome veterans home after the Indy Honor Flight on Saturday.
These veterans represented the 14th and 15th trips for the honor flight in Indianapolis.
About 200 veterans went to the nation’s capital for the day to see their memorials and receive thanks for their service.
24-Hour News 8’s Teresa Mackin went along on the trip to Washington, D.C., and was with the veterans all day.
She’ll have much more from the trip coming up on Veterans Day.
WISH-TV will be dedicating the entire day to “Hoosier Heroes” of all ages.
We’ll be celebrating their service and also looking at the challenges they face.
