Police investigating blade in Halloween candy

RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – The Winchester Police department is investigating after a mother discovered a blade in a piece of her son’s candy on Halloween.

An officer that responded to the call discovered a utility knife blade sticking out of a candy bar.

“We notified the public throughout social media because we wanted the public to know as soon as possible”, said Chief of Police Michael Burk. “This has been the only report of product tampering that the police department has received.”

Chief Burk said the investigation remains open and any finding will be forwarded to the Randolph County Prosecutor’s Office.
