FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) — Republican Mayor Chris McBarnes must be doing something right in his Frankfort community because he won Tuesday’s election with 88 percent of the vote.
McBarnes beat his opponent, Libertarian Jaime McKinney, with 1,748 to 241 votes.

Through his four years in office, Mayor McBarnes has been an active force in Frankfort bringing new businesses to the community like ConAgra Foods distribution center and Indiana Packers facility.

McBarnes has expressed he’s wanted Frankfort to be thought of as the “Food Hub.”

McBarnes has also said that there’s plenty to do in the city of Frankfort thrusting off our four cornerstones — neighborhood revitalization, communications, economic development and citizen’s voice. He’s also been actively working on cleaning up blighted properties on the city.
