Rockville man dies in Hendricks County crash

DANVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department and Danville Fire Department responded to a fatal crash involving three vehicles Tuesday morning.

According to Hendricks County officials, it happened near State Road 75 and U.S. 36. The crash was reported around 7:15 a.m. and was a slightly offset head-on collision, according to investigators at the scene.

Officials say one person died at the scene. The victim was identified as 46-year-old Mitchell Beck of Rockville, Indiana. The two other drivers were not injured.

U.S. 36 remained closed in both directions, between SR 75 and County Road 775 W near the Hendricks/Putnam county line, around noon Tuesday, but investigators were said to be opening the roadway soon.

Details about what led up to the crash were not immediately clear.
