Fishers launches program to help local military families

FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) – There’s a new program in Fishers aimed at helping the families of our country’s heroes.

The city’s Department of Public Works announced The Hometown Help for Heroes initiative on Thursday. The program will provide snow removal and lawn care services for military families in Fishers who have one or more heads of their household deployed.

Services will be offered for eligible families for the duration of their family member’s deployment.

The program includes:

• Driveway and sidewalk snow removal within 24 hours after the completion of a snow event over two inches
• Lawn mowing and trimming as needed during summer months
