FRANKLIN, Ind. (WISH) – The city of Franklin’s police department has two furry new members on the force.

On Wednesday, officers welcomed two new K-9 officers – Stinger and Pepper.

Officials say Pepper and Stinger will help the department with narcotics and tracking down suspects. The dogs join Jary a 12-year-old dog who is the current police dog in Franklin, according to 24-Hour News 8’s partners at the Daily Journal.

Pepper will also attend special events, including school functions. Stinger also has training in finding missing people.

Franklin Police Chief Tim O’Sullivan said that next month two officers will go through a month long training period so they can learn the correct handling.
