Church helps children on ‘Orphan Sunday’

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Several adoption agencies setup booths at East 91st Street Christian Church for Orphan Sunday.

Orphan Sunday is a national day set aside in which thousands of events are held across the globe to stand for orphans.

At the Indianapolis church, members were able to get information about sponsoring and / or adopting a child.

The church’s Next Generations Pastor Lori Burns said, “My husband and I have also adopted and just even in our experience our son came with us five years ago from Ethiopia and it’s just made a huge difference in his life and just the kids that are around here they get to be a part of understanding what it means to serve other kids among the world.”

East 91st Street Christian Church has an adoption support group to help families who are adopting.

Contact your local adoption agency for information on adopting or sponsoring a child.
