17-year-old, boyfriend charged in murder of delivery driver

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Two people have been charged in the case of the delivery driver who was shot in the chest and killed on the city’s east side.

Mark Miller, 27, was delivering an order from China King. Shortly after he arrived to make his delivery, reports of gunshots were heard.

Police arrived to the scene and found Miller dead in his pickup truck, stuck in reverse and partially inside an empty apartment.

IMPD arrested Peter Hutchings, 27, for the murder of 27-year-old Mark Miller.

Investigators said Hutchings and his girlfriend, Terri Williams, 17, lured Miller to the apartment complex by ordering food.

Investigators started going over evidence, and that’s when police traced a phone number used to place the last order to Hutchings.

According to those close to the investigation, the couple had used the number to place an order at China King before. This time the couple used the same number but a different address.

According to police documents, when police executed a search warrant on the apartment of Hutchings, they found a cell phone with the same number used to place the food delivery and a .38 firearm in the bottom drawer of the refrigerator.

Court documents state that Hutchings was convicted of armed robbery in March 2009.

He faces five felonies and one misdemeanor charges for murder, murder while committing or attempting to commit robbery, attempted robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, conspiracy to commit robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and carrying a handgun without a license.

Robinson faces charges for murder, attempted robbery resulting in serious bodily injury and conspiracy to commit robbery. All three charges are felonies.
