Deer hunter airlifted after fall from tree stand

COVINGTON, Ind. (WLFI) — A deer hunter had to be airlifted from Fountain County after he fell about 20 feet from a tree stand.

Indiana conservation officers said 30-year-old Zachary Bowling, of Indianapolis, was hunting deer from an elevated stand when he fell Tuesday. DNR officers said the accident happened just before 3 p.m. near Portland Arch in Fountain County.

Bowling was airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis with serious injuries.
