One arrested in shooting death of teen

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – According to the Indianapolis Police Department, 18-year-old Dante Townsend has been arrested in the shooting death of 18-year-old Nigel Willis.

Townsend faces preliminary charges of murder, criminal recklessness and carrying a handgun without a license.

Willis was shot in the 3500 block of Biscayne Road November 4 just before 10 p.m.

When arriving on scene, officers found Willis who had been shot at least one time.  He was later transported to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital.

At the hospital several efforts were made by medical staff to save the teenager’s life, but he later died due his injuries sustained in the shooting.
