Letterman returning to Ball State with young filmmakers

MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) – Ball State University says David Letterman and two of the nation’s top young filmmakers are planning a visit to Muncie.

The university announced Wednesday that Letterman will return to campus to host a discussion with Spike Jonze and Bennett Miller on Nov. 30.

Jonze has worked with Fatboy Slim, Weezer, Beastie Boys, and Kanye West.

Miller is an Academy Award-nominated film director who is known for his narrative features in “Moneyball,” “Capote” and “Foxcatcher.”

Letterman is a Ball State alumn, who retired as the host of CBS “The Late Show” six months ago.

Tickets are free to students, faculty and staff, and the general public. Tickets are first come, first serve. They can be picked up from Emens Auditorium at the following times:

  • Students: Friday, Nov. 13 at 7 a.m.
  • Faculty and staff: Friday, Nov. 13 at noon.
  • General public: Monday, Nov. 16
