Butler students wear black to show support for Paris

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Students at Butler University are wearing black in support of victims and survivors of the attacks on Monday.

A university spokesperson says seven French exchange students organized the “Butler in Black” campaign. They say they want to show solidarity with those grieving in Paris and throughout France.

“I’m wearing black to support all the events in Paris and to prove that even if I am not in my country, I am not OK with what happened,” Crhistie Port who is from France said.

The group’s organizer asked everyone to wear black in solidarity.

“First our country is shocked by what happened. It’s not normal. I think that is why we are all wearing black to show we are sad about it and show that we don’t stop thinking,” Marion Volant who is also from France said.

There was a moment of silence over the weekend before the men’s basketball game.
