Holiday Mart features shopping from nearly 150 retailers in one location

martusGet ready to shop and shop big! This year’s Holiday Mart, the Junior League of Indianapolis’s signature fundraiser, features more than 150 specialty retailers from across the country.  More than 10,000 people are expected to shop at Holiday Mart over the course of the five-day event, which features the best in apparel, children’s gifts, holiday decor, unique home goods, gourmet food items and more!

Proceeds benefit the JLI’s mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community. The women of the JLI provide funding and volunteer hours to community partners in support of the JLI’s current community impact focus area geared toward preparing Central Indiana students for academic success.

  • It is one of the oldest Junior League “marts” in the country.
  • On Wednesday, Nov. 18, is “Shoppers Eve,” which allows shoppers to get a head start shopping for a cause.
  • Proceeds benefit the JLI’s mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community.
  • JLI members will donate more than 2,000 volunteer hours to make the multi-day experience possible.
  • ABOUT THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF INDIANAPOLIS
    • The JLI’s mission is promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community.
    • The women of the JLI provide funding and volunteer hours to community partners in support of the JLI’s current community impact focus area geared toward preparing Central Indiana students for academic success.
    • The JLI donates a total of approximately $200,000 to community organizations each year. The funds are awarded in grants and through community partnerships. Recipients of the 2015 community assistance grants will be announced in December.
    • The JLI’s current community partners are Stephen Foster Elementary (IPS School 67), Early Learning Indiana and School on Wheels. Community partners receive funding, technical assistance and hundreds of volunteer hours from JLI members to help prepare students for academic success.
    • Last month, the JLI held a grand opening for the Bulldog Community Cupboard at Stephen Foster Elementary School, which is the only Gleaner’s-stocked food pantry within an elementary school.
