INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Winter can bring freezing temperatures and snowfalls that can make travel hazardous, but the city of Indianapolis said it was ready on Monday.
The Department of Public Works held a ‘Let it Snow Force’ event on Monday. The mayor, top officials and the public were at the event to hear about the plans to keep roads safe this winter.
DPW said they have the manpower, training and equipment to handle anything Mother Nature decides to dish out.
“But you want to assure people that the snowforce is ready, the trucks are ready to go, the people have been trained. And also give some safety tips heading into the season. So it’s kind of a team effort to get through the winter,” said Indianapolis Mayor, Greg Ballard.
Part of the day’s event included winter safety tips for drivers including what they should keep in their vehicle in the event of an emergency.
