Cass County man killed in excavating accident

RADNOR, Ind. (WLFI) – A Cass County man is dead after an excavating accident in Carroll County Thursday.

Carroll County sheriff’s deputies say 29-year-old Jerrid Jackson of Young America was installing drainage tile in a field on the 5600 block of West County Road 250 South, just east of Radnor.

Jackson and Brad McGuire, 28, of Galveston, were in a hole about about eight feet deep when a side of the hole gave way, pinning both men.

Other employees of Miller Excavating/Drainage Contractors were able to get McGuire out with just a broken arm. But by the time they got to Jackson, he was unresponsive. CPR was unable to resuscitate him.
