Credit card information stolen from Carmel gas station

CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) – Police in Carmel have discovered the latest credit card skimming operation installed at a gas station.

A device used to collect credit card information illegally was installed inside a fuel pump at a station that detectives have not publicly identified according to a report by Current in Carmel.

The article said police have been looking into several cases of credit card fraud reported in recent weeks.

Officers told the publication that the thieves would return to the station during closed hours to retrieve the device and the information stored.

Police suggested drivers monitor their credit card statements and notify not only credit card companies but the police department of any suspicious activity.
