NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — Students showed off their engineering skills through robots on Saturday.

Noblesville West Middle School played host to about 500 students competing in a statewide robotics competition.

The teams have spent hours designing and building robots, which could open the door to future opportunities.

Organizers say skills learned through this event and similar competitions could provide skills that students will use in the future.

Winners at this competition will advance to state.

The year’s world competition will be held in Louisville.
