Wal-Mart offering ‘Cyber Monday’ one day early

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Cyber Monday deals are starting a day early for Wal-Mart.

Wal-Mart said their sales will start the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

The first round of deals will begin at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, Nov. 29.

According to USA Today, research shows a rise in the number of times people searched for “Cyber Monday” the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

“Now that the Internet is everywhere with smartphones and broadband connections… it doesn’t make any sense to stay awake just to have access to the early, best special deals during Cyber Monday,” he said. “That’s why we decided to start earlier this year on Sunday,” Fernando Madeira, President and CEO of Walmart.com told USA Today.

Wal-Mart is expected to offer three times the number of Star Wars toys, three times as many 4K TVs, 15 times more drones, and 350 percent more 3D printers and accessories this year.

Online shoppers will be able to ship order to a store for free pickup, but shipping to a customer’s home requires orders to be a minimum of $50.
