Rifles stolen from Bargersville home

FRANKLIN, Ind. (WISH) — Police in Johnson County are investigating a burglary that happened Monday in Bargersville.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in the 2600 block of West County Road 300 North around 6:30 p.m. The homeowner called police and said he returned home from work to find it burglarized.

He said a number of items were missing, including a variety of firearms. The homeowner told police the back door had been forced open and he discovered that two chainsaws were laying in the backyard that had been inside his shed.

Deputies say they collected pictures and DNA swabs from the scene. The homeowner said he had no idea who would be responsible for the burglary. He told officials that a few of the firearms stolen were rifles that belonged to his father.
