TSA expecting 150K travelers through airport over holiday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – TSA said they are anticipating around 150,000 travelers to arrive and depart from the Indianapolis International Airport.

This estimate came as a surprise to many leaving town on Wednesday. There were no long lines, crowds or major delays. Experts said good weather played a factor in helping flights depart and arrive on schedule.

Even the alert issued by the State Department earlier in the week didn’t seem to affect passengers. It warned people of the possible risks associated with travel due to terrorist threats.

“I thought it was going to be a lot busier. I am shocked,” said traveler Chi Uchendu.

Officials at Indianapolis International and TSA wouldn’t comment on if there would be increased security.
