BEDFORD, Ind. (AP) — A Bedford teenager has pleaded guilty to murder in the February 2014 beating death of a man at his rural home.
Dillon Hicks, who will turn 18 on Dec. 13, also pleaded guilty Monday to conspiracy to commit burglary under a plea agreement in which a robbery charge was dismissed.
The Times-Mail reports Hicks showed no emotion and quietly answered “yes” as his attorneys questioned him about his role in the slaying of 43-year-old Rodney Allender of Lawrence County.
Under the plea agreement, Hicks would be sentenced to 55 years on the murder count and 10 years on the conspiracy count, with the sentences to run consecutively. Hicks’ sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 28.
Two others who also were teens at the time also have pleaded guilty in the case.
