Once-condemned dog finds forever home

AUSTIN (KXAN) – The shelter dog that captured the hearts of Austin’s social media users through a campaign to save him from euthanasia has been adopted.

More than 200,000 online signatures rallied support for Neville after a judge signed an order to have the pooch put down following a bite incident at Austin Pets Alive!

The judge reconsidered his order and outlined criteria that any potential adoptors must meet.

Tuesday, APA announced that Neville was adopted into a family and has canine and feline siblings.

“We had a number of qualified adopters who were able to meet the criteria set forth by the court.” said Ellen Jefferson, APA! Executive Director. “In the end, we chose a family that fit every criteria that Neville needed for a good life. We believe he will be happiest in this home for the rest of his life.”
