Colts’ Luck resumes throwing as recovery continues

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Colts quarterback Andrew Luck said Wednesday that he is throwing again but it’s still not clear how close he is to playing.

Luck was injured Nov. 8 in a victory over Denver. Two days later, he was diagnosed with a lacerated kidney and a partially torn abdominal muscle.

Backup Matt Hasselbeck started and won each of the past two games.

After telling reporters last week the rehab worked had increased, Luck acknowledged he has begun throwing. Tight end Dwayne Allen, who has caught some of those passes, said Luck’s throwing motion looks good but that Luck has not been in pads or run around.

The 40-year-old Hasselbeck is expected to start again Sunday when Indy (6-5) visits Pittsburgh (6-5).
