Put a little chocolate into your holiday recipes

Make a holiday-worthy breakfast this year that even Santa would stick around for! By using prepared croissant dough, Whitney Bembenick, with Endangered Species Chocolate, shows us how to make a treat that the most picky over-night guest won’t be able to resist. Do it all without spending hours in the kitchen too!

Here is today’s recipe for Chocolate Hazelnut Croissants:

1 package refrigerated croissant dough

½ cup+ Endangered Species Hazelnut Spread with Cocoa

1 egg, beaten

2, 3 oz bars Endangered Species Dark Chocolate, melted

Pre-heat oven to 350 F. On a non-stick or lined baking sheet, roll out croissant dough so that the point of the triangle faces away from you. Dollop 1 tablespoon of Endangered Species Hazelnut Spread with Cocoa on the base of each triangle, leaving just enough space at the bottom of the triangle to pinch (you will begin to roll from the bottom). Once all of the triangles have spread, roll them beginning with the fat side of the triangle, finishing with the tip of the triangle folding across the top. Pinch together each end and slightly curl towards you to create a crescent shape. Brush the tops of the croissants with the beaten egg and place in oven 14-16 minutes (until golden). While warm, drizzle the melted dark chocolate across the top of each croissant. A sprinkle of chopped almonds, pistachios or hazelnuts on top give these treats an extra Holiday flare. Best served warm with hot coffee or tea and mixed fruit.
