Q: How old is the average life of a roof?
- If your roof is 12-15 years old, it is definitely time to get an expert up there to check things out …regular inspections are important, 12-15 years is typical life expectancy of 25 year traditional shingles. Just because it is a 25 year shingle, doesn’t mean it will last 25 years!
Q: What are the signs to look for to know it may be time to replace your roof?
- Shingles missing, cracked or curling; granules in the gutters, moss/algae
Q. Those are things we can see from the outside, is there anything on the inside of the home we should be looking for or, if we already notice, should be calling someone?
- Discolored/watermarked ceilings or walls, seeing daylight through your attic roof, water/dampness in the attic and of course rising energy bills might be a clue something is going on. A thorough inspection inside and out on a regular basis is a must!
