Police: Man, 72, used fake .357 in hold-up

MERCER COUNTY, Ohio (WANE) — Police arrested a 72-year-old Celina, Ohio, man on felony charges after he reportedly robbed an acquaintance while armed with a fake .357 revolver.

According to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, around 2 p.m. Tuesday, Silas Floyd King confronted the victim at his home and pointed a gun at him before demanding money. Police said King knew the victim.

Detectives later found King at a bar in Franklin Township and arrested him.

Police then searched King’s home and found the gun – a pellet gun made to look like a .357 revolver – he allegedly used in the robbery, described by the victim.

King was charged with 1st degree felony aggravated robbery and 5th degree felony theft, the theft charge enhanced due to his age, police said. He is being held on a $500,000 bond in the Mercer County Adult Detention Facility.
