INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Emergency crews responded to a call in a ravine just before 4 a.m. Saturday morning in the 7100 block of Fairwood Drive.

According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, the first crew arrived on the scene several minutes after 4 a.m.

Crews began working to get the driver, the only person in the car, out of the vehicle immediately.  Those were ultimately successful as the driver was of the vehicle around 4:40 a.m after first stabilizing the vehicle.

IFD says the driver of the vehicle, a 57-year-old male, told crews he ended up in the ravine after driving too fast and missed the curve after heading east on 71st Street at Fairwood Drive.

The driver was transported to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital just after 5 a.m.
