Woman who posed as nurse, pretended to have cancer sentenced

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – A woman who posed as a nurse and told her employer she had breast cancer to receive time off from work, was sentenced in Hamilton County Tuesday.

Ashley Trent pleaded guilty to two counts of identity deception and one count of forgery, all felonies. As part of her plea agreement, Trent received a two year suspended sentence.

Trent is currently also facing charges in Marion County. She a court date in that case is set for December 18.

Trent was sentenced in October to 7 1/2 years probation in Hancock County as part of a plea agreement for forgery, theft and practicing nursing without a license.
